My Services

As a “full stack” Fractional Product Leader, I provide the following services typically performed by senior-level product managers, researchers, and design directors on an ad-hoc, a la carte basis.

Thought Partnership

Whether as a sounding board to bounce ideas off of or a sparring partner to challenge your assumptions, thought partnership is an excellent way to leverage decades of experience quickly and efficiently, hone your ideas early, and kick your project off to a great start.

Strategic Roadmapping

Creative teams rarely lack for ideas, but figuring out which ones to act on — and in what order — is critical to shipping products with real value in every release. But strategic roadmapping is not just stack-raking your backlog. It’s plotting a route to your big vision, with intentional learnings, anticipated adaptations, and the occasional pit-stop along the way.

Foundational or Generative Research

Do you have a problem area, potential market, or target user persona you want to learn more about in order to guide product ideation? Through user interviews, surveys, market analysis, media and literature reviews, and other research techniques, I can generate the deep understanding and actionable insights necessary to start off on the right foot.

Product Lifecycle Implementation

There is no one-process-fits-all with product management. I’ve worked in everything from the loosest of scrums to strict waterfall, from continuous delivery to gold mastering, and have the experience to help your team find product-process fit.

Evaluative Research

From validating a potential solution in a nascent form to usability testing of a fully-functional experience, I use both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to make sure whatever we’re building is doing what we intend it to do.

Product Design Direction

Drawing on my years as a creative lead and informed by the data and insights gleaned through research, I facilitate user-centric design thinking, ideate with design teams, and review concepts and mocks throughout the process to ensure alignment with product requirements.

Requirements Documentation

From light-weight PRDs and user stories to detailed functional specifications, I can produce clear, concise documentation at a level appropriate for the project and the needs of varied development teams.

Project Management

My lowercase “a” agile project management style is rooted in the chaotic, deadline-driven world of my early career in publishing. It’s a non-dogmatic, low process approach that I’ve found works well with the high-performing teams typical of start-ups.

Cross-functional Collaboration

As a wearer of many hats myself, I work well with marketing, operations, customer support, QA, and any other teams involved in bringing a product to market.

If you need support with any of the above, please reach out and let’s talk about how I can help.
